The Howard Property Group have recently sold a site for redevelopment to Access Storage. The 2.33 acre site at Gunnells Wood Road, Stevenage, was sold for a sum in excess of £3million.The new owners plan to demolish and redevelop the site.
The site has been owned by the Howard Group since the 1950's and contains a substantial 65,000 sq ft warehouse building which was originally a WW II 'blister' aircraft hanger which was purchased by the Company and erected on the site in the early 60's.
The property is situated in a very prominent position with easy access to Stevenage's southern junction with the A1. The existing buildings were occupied until recently by British Aerospace who had been on the site for over 30 years. The area is predominantly industrial.
Michael Summers, Howard Property Group Director, who handled the deal, commented: "After owning the site for many years and long-term tenants vacating, this provided a good opportunity for us to sell the site. We looked at various options and felt that land was in high demand in this area of the country, so marketed the site directly to occupiers. We are very pleased with the outcome".
