Progressing towards a stronger future

Overview

The Howard Group of companies is a privately owned organisation which can trace its beginnings back to the early 1930s. There is still today a strong sense of this history and the rich legacy which flows from this throughout the business. The company is currently led by the third generation of the Howard family as well as being 100% owned by family members. Over recent years, the company has changed, grown significantly and recently relocated its Headquarters from Bedford to Cambridge.

Commercial property remains the primary focus of the Group however; the company's early growth back in the 1930s and 1940s was forged by the entrepreneurial spirit of its Founder - Mr CAEC Howard. This spirit of innovation and diversity is central to the future growth of the company, Howard Capital Partners; our corporate venturing arm has been established to pursue investment opportunities outside our normal sphere of activity.

The vision for the Group, its employees and shareholders is to foster and nourish this legacy and continue this dynamic and successful business for generations to come.

The Group's operations can be segmented into 3 main areas of activities, these are:

  • Property Investment: Management and expansion of the Group's property portfolio aimed at delivering the company's strategic growth objectives and securing strong income streams from a mix of high quality tenants.
  • Property Development: Management of a development portfolio to deliver trading income and provide a potential stream of investment properties. The Group has over 20 years experience in property development and a portfolio that includes retail parks, industrial estates, distribution warehouse units, mixed-use and office developments.
  • Corporate Venturing: Managed by Howard Capital Partners, established in 2005 to acquire equity stakes in mid-sized businesses. The Howard team works alongside management teams to enhance performance and deliver healthy returns on equity.
